Colca canyon tour + Climbing to the Misti Volcano

Day 1: LIMA / AREQUIPA
(AM)Transfer from the hotel to the airport, and departure to Arequipa.
(AM)Arrival in Arequipa, and transfer to the hotel Overnight in Arequipa.
Day 2: COLCA CANYON
Early in the morning, after breakfast, departure by bus on your travel to the Colca Valley
driving across Pampa Cañahuas at the Aguada Blanca National Reserve, habitat of herds of vicuñas
and stopping at the Mirador de los Andes, the crater of Chucura, the "Mirador de Chivay", where
beautiful pre-columbian terraces still being cultivated by native Collaguas can be observed.
Arrival to the town of Chivay at 13:00 pm approx.
Transfer to your selected lodge. Lunch.
In the afternoon free time to visit thermal and medical baths.
Overnight at the hotel or lodge in Chivay.
Day 3: COLCA CANYON
Early in the morning departure to the "Condor's cross" from where the great andean bird, "The Condor",
may be spotted flying in circles above still farmed green pre-hispanic terraces.
Enjoy the impresive panorama of the Colca Canyon, one of the deepest in the wold (3,000 mts.).
On the way back to Chivay, visit to the mirador of Chinina, where we will find the famous
hanging tombs and the hanging bridge of sifon that joins the town of yanque with
Corporaque. At the town of yanque, visit its beautiful church and its characteristic
stone streets among other attractions. In order to have spectacular views of the Colca
Valley, we will drive to the observation points of Choquetipo and Artahuilque and also
to the town of Maca.
After lunch at a local restaurant, return to the city of Arequipa, arriving at
18:00 pm approx. overnight at the hotel in Arequipa.
Day 4: FREE DAY IN AREQUIPA
Day 5: CLIMB TO THE MISTI VOLCANO
Departure from Arequipa at 08:00am (pax will be picked up from the hotel) Transfer in private
transportation until the beginning of the volcano Misti.
Start the climbing, and after a walk of about 5 hours arrives to the place, we’ll be
camping at 4500 m.s.n.m. During the climbing, we can observe the change of landscapes and weather
in their different altitudes. For the ones who like photography, you can take some pictures,
and have the most beautiful views of the volcano, and the sunset over Arequipa City.
Day 6: MISTI PEAK
Breakfast (mate de coca and more)
Departure to the top of the volcano at 05:00am. Climbing about 5 or 6 hours until
the peak, which highest point is at 5825 masl. Since there, we could observe the volcanos
around as The Chachani, the Pichu Pichu, The National reserve of Blanca Aguada, and other
snowy peaks. After seeing the landscapes for a while and rest, We get ready to start the
way down to the camping, where we eat our meal, and after resting start the way back to the
place where the transportation is, to bring us back to Arequipa.
Arriving in Arequipa at 04:00pm.
Day 7: AREQUIPA / LIMA
Transfer from the hotel to the aiport, and departure to Lima.
