The Paracas Reserve is a big protected zone located in the south of the City of Pisco.
Our excursion to the Paracas Reserve starts at 10:30am pick up the tourists from their
hotels or after the tour of the Ballestas Island.
During this excursion, the tourists can see big groups of flamingos feeding in the shores
of the beach to have a better view of these beautiful birds its necessary a short trekking
to a viewing point from we will have a better sight.
Later we will visit the Paracas Center interpretation an interesting place in which we
can learn about the flora and fauna that exist in the reserve. Here there are skulls of
some animals such as whales, wolves, penguin among others.
We visit the small Museum Julio C. Tello, learning about the old Paracas man, who lived in the zone
2000 thousand years ago. The museum offers to the visitor a great variety of human remains
that were discovered more than 80 years emphasizing the famous deformed Paracas crania and the cranial trepidation.
According with archeologists, the first inhabitants in Paracas zone appear about 7000
years B.C., since they discovered under the sands of Paraca”s desert tombs containing
food of origin organic and musical instruments made of human bone.
Continue with the visit through the desert, following a rude route untill arriving to
the Cathedral viewing point an impressive rocky formation created by the erosion of
the wind. In this point we will descend from our bus and we can take some photos from
the top of the viewing point, then we will descend to the beach and explore the interior
of the Cathedral inside this place sometimes it is possible to see the marine cat maybe
with little luck we will be able to see it.
For the blow of the waves on the rocks of the interior of the cathedral we can
feel a sound that is alike enough the noise of a bell inside a real cathedral, there comes his name.
Finally we get back to the bus, and we go to the beautiful Lagunillas beach where
we can enjoy of a delicious lunch in front of the blue sea. After the lunch if the
passengers want they can swim and about 15:00pm we get back to the city of Pisco.
